Discussion of the game

Beware spoilers, most of it will be under the fakecut

So I was playing the game again for the 3rd time when I started to notice some things. They never did go into the background of most of the characters, not even the bad guys. The only ones that are really talked about is Polka and Frederic. Most rpgs that contain such a small group, ususally by the end of the game, you know just about everything about each character or at least enough to know what happened to them in the past

For example: For Allegretto - what happened to his parents? How'd he meet Beat? If he's 17 now, how long has he been living such a lifestyle? Etc., etc., This kinda goes along with Beat.

Jazz had a little bit of his history revealed at the near end but it was in a combination with their organization's history

Another thing, when I first played the game without knowing what would happen in the future, when I saw the scene at bridge where Fugue was talking to Count Waltz, by the signgs and body language that was used, I thought that Fugue would betray Count Waltz. It was obvious that Fugue wasn't entirely happy with the Count's plans and made a little grunt on it. So I thought Fugue would fight back, but sadly no, that didn't happen. It would have been an interesting twist though. It would be kinda neat to have a knight on your team.

Also, Rondo and Claves, its obvious they had a history together. I did some ressearch and it was an old job but I wish the game would go more into that. Sad...

Now that I'm thinking about it, most of the bosses are actually quite powerful on their own and would have been almost impossible to win against if it was a one-one battle. If it was a one-two battle, you have more of a chance to win as one would be fighting, the other healing. But once the healer gets killed its but to one-one. And 1-3, well you already know the answer to that one.

Has anyone ever had these questions or thoughts as well

I know. But doesn't most rpgs give you an option to do some side-quests to help reveal the character's histories. Its just kinda depressing because it didn't. Too many questions left unanswered even the ending didn't solve very much.

I know a few that were questioning how the heck Polka came back at the end. I tried to answer to it but it was still vague.

To be all honest, this made the game very poor though its still a good game.

And also, one would think that someone on Forte's side like a knight or someone around that area would join right? The group isn't evenly balanced
